As reported earlier, Miyavi was cast for a movie role by actor and director Angelina Jolie in her upcoming film adaptation of "Unbroken,"
the best-selling book by Laura Hillenband. That movie has been scheduled to release this year on Christmas Day, December 25, 2014. Scenes from the movie and comments from Louis Zamperini can now be viewed on the film's official website.
"Unbroken" is the true story
of Louis "Lou" Zamperini, an Olympic athlete and WWII airman who was
taken prisoner of war when his bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean in
1943. Miyavi plays the role of Mutsushiro Watanabe, the Japanese soldier who guarded and tortured Zamperini during his captivity.
