SHOXX Reveals Artists for Vols. 236 &237

SHOXX music magazine has revealed the featured artists for both the current Volume 236 and the next, Volume 237.

The October 2012 Volume 236 features the GazettE as the cover artist, with a 23-page special article inside. Other artists included in the volume are Sakito (Nightmare), SuG, Plastic Tree, Igaguri Chiba (Sendai Kamotsu), LM.C, AYABIE, UNiTE, Makoto, and BugLug, among others. This issue is on sale now.

The November 2012 Volume 237 will feature dual cover artists of MUCC and Alice Nine. The magazine also promises to include YOMI (Nightmare), the GazettE, SuG, and Shin (ViViD), among others. That issue will hit stores on September 21.

GEMCEREY x Kra Collaboration

Kra will be joining famous Japanese jeweler GEMCEREY in a collaboration project. Each band member has worked with the jewelry company to create a unique piece of jewelry, including a ribbon necklace from Taizo, a spider ring from Keiyuh, a clef necklace from Yasuno, and a Cupid's bow brooch from Yuhra.

Kiryuuin Sho Sings Kamen Rider Wizard Theme

Kiryuuin Sho, vocalist for Golden Bomber, will perform the opening theme for the upcoming Kamen Rider Wizard television series. The song titled "Life is SHOW TIME" will also be released as a single with four types on October 17. Kamen Rider Wizard begins airing on TV Asahi on September 2.

FEST VAINQUEUR Announce 1st Concept Album 10/17

FEST VAINQUEUR announced via their OHP that they plan to release their first concept album on October 17. The new album will be called "GENERATION," and it will be released in three types. Each type will include two discs, with the second disc being covers of songs from artists like PENICILLIN, Go Hiromi, Maki Ohguro, GLAY, and Aerosmith.

This marks the first solo release by the band since two new members joined earlier in the year.

RUKA of Nightmare to Have Surgery

According to an update on the band's OHP, RUKA, drummer for Nightmare, will be having surgery to correct an unnamed minor ailment. In his posted announcement, RUKA states that he has been feeling unwell since before the band's recent fan-club tour, but put off seeking medical consultation as long as possible. After seeking medical treatment, the drummer has decided to follow the advice of his doctor and have surgery. The announcement asks fans not to worry; RUKA intends to return to the tour circuit after a recommended period of rest and recovery.

Resulting changes in the band's current tour schedule have not yet been announced.

SuG PV Previews on YouTube

SuG has added a short video preview for their upcoming single's title track on their official YouTube channel. A 1:48 minute clip of "sweeToxic" now appears alongside a previously released sample clip of the "fat inside horror" B-side track. The "sweeToxic" single will be released on September 19.

In their final year together, Versailles will be featured in a special  SHOXX FiLE compleat de Versailles 2007-2012 released in late December. This 112-page book covers the band's career as covered  in SHOXX music magazine from 2007 to 2012, and it comes with five B2-sized posters. MUCC has announced plans to release their "Aishuu no Antique" album on August 22. This album was originally sold only at the Makuhari Messe live venue on June 9, 2012. The CD release will come with a 32-page booklet.

Alice Nine Moving to a New Label?

Reports are circulating quickly that Alice Nine may be moving to a new recording label. Reports from international music news site musicJAPANplus and Japanese music news site Natalie indicate that Alice Nine not only played a new, as yet unrecorded song called "Scarlet" during a performance on their current leg of the ongoing "Court of '9'" tour, but they also announced that they will be moving to the NAYUTAWAVE RECORDS label (a division of UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN). This recording company also handles the music of LUNA SEA. The band began recording under the TOKUMA JAPAN COMMUNICATIONS group in 2010.

No official word has been announced via the band's OHP and personal sites, or by either recording label. We will update you here if and/or when such news becomes officially available.

Rock and Read Announces Lineup for 043

Music magazine ROCK AND READ has begun announcing the lineup for their newest volume 043 via their official blog. The next issue, due to be released on August 29, will feature Kai (the GazettE) as cover artist and Nao (Alice Nine) as back cover artist. The two drummers will be included in a special Kai x Nao feature inside. [Update] BORN Announces New Releases

BORN updated their OHP with new release information. The band will be releasing a live DVD on November 21. The "BORN ONEMAN TOUR 2012 "BLACK MASSIVE ANIMALS"" DVD will cover performances from the band's August 12 show at SHIBUYA O-EAST. That tour marked the band's first oneman tour circuit. BORN has also announced that they will be releasing a new single on January 23, 2013. No details are available for the yet to be titled single.

Golden Bomber Challenge Series on YouTube

CindyKate to Release Maxi Single 9/12

CindyKate will be releasing a maxi single on September 12. The single, "Soul Ecstasy," has previously been available only through live venues and the band's web shop, but is actually the band's sixth maxi single. "Soul Ecstasy" was originally released in March 2011. CindyKate just released their ninth maxi single, "Dekotora no Hoshi," on May 9, 2012.

Band Feature: Magistina Saga

Visual kei label Starwave Records has added a new band to their lineup. Magistina Saga is a three-person band from Osaka that began performing together in November 2008, but formed officially in July 2010 with the concept of "fairy tale of both magic and truth."  The band's female vocalist, Iori, along with guitarist Urugi and bass player Kyo, present songs that use anime and game music mixed with stringed instruments to create their unusual melodies.

Magistina Saga has made numerous live show appearances throughout their career from 2008 to present. Since their formation, the band has released one mini album and one maxi single, as well as contributed a track to the "PLANETARIUM SHOW CASE2" compilation CD. They plan to release their second mini album on September 28.

MUCC Updates Info for DVD Releases

MUCC plans to celebrate their 15th anniversary year with multiple DVD releases, and they have updated their OHP to include more details. MUCC will be releasing a three-part DVD series that covers their "MUCC vs ムック vs MUCC" anniversary live, with individual parts to be released on August 22, September 12, and October 3. Each part will also include an unreleased new single song track. The first new song track to be included with the August release is titled "Kaze to taiyo."
