Miyavi has been cast for a movie role by actor and director Angelina Jolie in her upcoming film adaptation of "Unbroken," the best-selling book by Laura Hillenband. "Unbroken" is the true story of Louis "Lou" Zamperini, an Olympic athlete and WWII airman who was taken prisoner of war when his bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean in 1943. Miyavi will play the role of Mutsushiro Watanabe, called "The Bird," who guarded and tortured Zamperini during his captivity. The movie is being filmed in Australia and is being given a tentative release date of December 25, 2014.
