CHISATO Best Album Release 6/7

CHISATO of PENICILLIN has announced that he will release a best album on June 7. The new release will be titled "CHISATO~20th ANNIVERSARY BEST ALBUM 'Can you Rock?!'" and it will be released in two types. The CD will contain 15 re-recorded songs chosen by fans plus one new song called "Can you Rock?!" Track details are listed in the artist's blog.

Music magazine ROCK AND READ has announced the list of artists who will be featured in volume 070, due to hit stores February 24. The front cover artist for this issue will be Ryuutaro Arimura (Plastic Tree), and the back cover artist will be Kirito (Angelo). PENICILLIN, Jin-Machine, Zombie, and Anfiel will be the featured guests on the web show called "Nico Viju." The final show of the month airs on the Nico Nico Live site on December 27 starting at 18:00 JST (time zone converter). HAKUEI New Album Release

HAKUEI of PENICILLIN has just released a new solo album. The new album titled "Virgin Vibration" was released this week on July 27, and it commemorates the artist's 20th anniversary. PENICILLIN New Releases Announcement

PENICILLIN have announced that they will will be releasing a new single and DVD. The new single will be titled "Stranger," and it will be released on October 14th in two types. Track listings are already available on the band's OHP. On September 13, they will be releasing a venue-limited DVD, also titled "Stranger," featuring a music clip and a making video for the single. It will be available at their live shows along their tour.

Nico Viju Special Airs 8/30

A special 24 hour visual rock event will be airing on the Nico Nico website on August 30th. The "24 Hour Konbangya" special promises to offer a variety of special guest appearances. A complete schedule of events is listed in the program's description area. The show will air at 17:00 JST (time zone converter), and time shifting is available for registered Nico Nico users who can't watch it as it airs. The show is hosted by Takuya Hoshino.

The new collection will be titled "V-ANIME collaboration -femme-" and it will feature a variety of guest appearances from members of visual bands like Kaya, Megamasso,cali≠gari, THE BEETHOVEN, Royz, DaizyStripper, NoGoD, MEJIBRAY, PENICILLIN, THE KIDDIE, DIAURA, Nightmare, and WING WORKS. The album will feature 11 song tracks and retail for around 2,857 JPY.

Akemi Oshima Book Available 7/18

Visual kei journalist, promoter, and manager for the band NINJAMAN JAPAN, Akemi Oshima is no stranger to the visual rock scene. On July 18, this "walking dictionary of visual kei"* will release a new book titled "Visual Rock Perfect Disc 500." This 192-page book will list and describe 500 of the most influential and recommended CD releases from the major bands on the scene during the golden age of visual kei. Contributing to the round-table discussion of the albums are Chisato (PENICILLIN), Keiyuh (Kra), and Subaru (Royz). The book's contents will be broken down into the scene's major decades, covering music from the 80s prior to the rise of visual kei up to the modern neo-progressive style. The book retails for 2,310 JPY.
