Hear Japan Closes 6/30

Hear Japan, the global music download site that featured Japanese music, has announced that it will be closing its website on June 30. In an announcement posted on the site, site president Nathan Reaven indicates that the costs of updating and launching the new version of the website earlier this year made it impossible to manage. Customers can still buy and download music from the site until its closing at the end of the month.

Black Gene for the Next Scene on Hear Japan

Global music download site Hear Japan 2.0 is now featuring an MP3 single download by new band, Black Gene for the Next Scene. The song is called "shinjitsunotsubasa." The band, formed in 2011, has recently been featured on Akemi Oshima's Viju☆Love☆Cafe. This digital single is the band's first downloadable track.

HearJapan Hosts Free 3/11 Single

On March 11, 2011, Japan suffered a terrible tragedy when the country experienced a devastating earthquake and tsunami. The loss of lives, properties, and security that day--and the days immediately following--was immeasurable. The world mourned with them, as the people of Japan picked up the pieces and moved forward with their lives.

Now, one year later, the musicians we love are finding ways to give back and offer remembrance for things lost that day. Currently, global music download site HearJapan is offering a free download of a song titled "Fuku," produced by i-dep and featuring the English words of Shing02. The song was created to commemorate the tragedy and to spread uplifting feelings of healing. The single will be available only until March 18.

Hear Japan Launches 2.0 Beta Platform

Digital download site Hear Japan just unleashed its new 2.0 website in beta. The site, which offers legal digital downloads of Japanese music to a global audience, now has new prices and new features (anime music), as well as the old favorites. The tabbed Genres feature allows users to quickly navigate to the type of music they want. Hear Japan still offers music from visual and Akiba kei bands.

Hear Japan Website Joins Google+

Hear Japan, a website that offers MP3 music downloads of Japanese music, has created a Google+ account. This new social networking account gives followers one more way to hear about new music and news from the company, in addition to their Twitter and Facebook accounts. Hear Japan's website includes music of various visual kei bands, as well as other styles of Japanese music.

Hear Japan Offers Global Music Downloads

Hear Japan is a global download store for Japanese MP3 music, including visual kei. The online store, located in Yokohama, Japan, offers a variety of music searchable by genre and band, as well as news and artist interviews in English. They are currently accepting suggestions for bands, labels, and albums to add to their store.
