BORN OHP Updates & Web Special

BORN recently updated their OHP to include their new look for the upcoming "Devlish of the PUNK" single scheduled for release on January 23, 2013. The updated page also features a special release section with audio sample clips of the songs included on the single.

As an added bonus, BORN will also be airing a New Year's Eve special on the Nico Nico website on December 31. Starting at 19:00 JST (convert time here), they will be re-broadcasting the band's August 2012 "BORN FIRST ONEMAN TOUR 'BLACK MASSIVE ANIMALS'" tour final performance at Shibuya O-EAST. The same concert was included on the band's first ever live DVD of the same name.  Registered Nico Nico members may timeshift the show for later viewing if they are not able to watch the program as it airs.

BugLug New Releases for 2013

BugLug recently announced that they will be issuing a live DVD and a new single in early 2013. On February 20, the band will release "BugLug LIVE DVD 'GOOD BYE'" featuring the band's recent December 13 performance at Shibuya O-EAST. On March 20, they will release a new three-track single that has yet to be titled. Further sales details are not yet available.

BUCK-TICK DVD Releases 12/26/12 & 2/20/13

On December 26, BUCK-TICK will be re-issuing three video collections on DVD and Blu-ray. The band's earlier live performances collected in "B-T LIVE PRODUCT -1987/1989/1992 VICTOR YEARS-", "Sabbat," "Climax Together," and "BUCK-TICK Live at THE LIVE INN" will all be newly issued in Blu-ray format. Alice Nine now has their own dedicated channel on the Nico Nico Live website. The "Alice Nine Official Channel" will make available special programs and comment clips to subscribers for a cost of 630 yen per month. The first special channel program will air on December 28 at 23:00 JST (convert time zones) for subscribers. Time shifting will be available.

Band Feature: DALATH

DALATH is a 3-member band founded in January 2009 in the Kanto region of Japan by members TORA and JSKE, who had often played together in prior bands, with the stated intent to explore “the destructive energy expressed by sounds.” Vocalist Ryuta joined the pair in April 2012. The band does not classify itself as pursuing a particular musical genre, but vocalist Ryuta states in his Facebook page that their sound will appeal to fans of hard rock, heavy metal, and visual kei.

Throughout July, September, and October 2012, DALATH have participated in a variety of live show performances, and on November 17^th, they released their first PV for the song “Cheeky Ren” to the public. That video, as well as other comment videos and cover tracks can be found on the band’s official YouTube channel.

Recently DALATH was nominated among 20 other bands to participate in a Râmen x JaME Bands Contest to determine which band fans wanted to visit Europe in March and April 2013. Voting for that contest has closed, but the results have not yet been released. The band is quickly gaining attention overseas, and is definitely one to watch for Western fans of Japanese music.
